Deception Pass! This was my fourth time there. Second time there to hike. I had E and both girls with me. This was such a beautiful day. Even though the girls got cranky at some points, I actually was completely prepared and everything went so smoothly!
We started at Rosario Beach. I actually got to read the story of the maiden on the panels this time and it was so cool! Here is a link to the legend.

Just a little walk away is a pretty overlook. Millie just wanted to be silly. These pictures of her funny faces make me laugh every time. She is such a goofball.

E climbed all round the rocks at the lookout. We were the only people there which was so nice.

We found some tide pools there! Not all of them were exposed because the tide was too high. But it was set up very well with a rope to follow so you don’t step on any of the wildlife.

We took a couple more pictures before we started our hike to Bowman Bay. It’s not too long but it was the most elevation gain Millie has ever done. There’s a little bit of a drop off over the edge but Millie was a champ and held hands the whole time which was such a relief!

Millie is lucky to have a cool aunt to get in the cold water with her. Charlee and I couldn’t hang! So we hiked back to Rosario Beach to get the car while E and M swam.

Here are some pictures from the trail on the way back to the car:

C and I drove over to Bowman Bay to pick up E and M. We couldn’t park right by where E and M were so my sister had quite the task of dragging Millie out of the water, but she managed it! Even when it’s cold M would stay in the water ALL DAY. I can tell when she is starting to get cold because she will say “I’m not cold mom, we don’t need to go home” even though I haven’t said anything.
We all got into the car and drove across the awesome bridge onto Widbey island and got McDonalds drive through. The kids ate and fell asleep on the way home. We were home by 2pm and it was a perfect day.
